# Sierra Bioclimatic Pergola With Cantilevered Section - Town Square, Dubai

Project Type

Sierra Bioclimatic Pergola (cantilevered section, motorised side screens)

Location

Town Square, Dubai (Villa)

Scale

Residential - Pool Terrace

This Town Square villa has a pool right beside the terrace, and the owners wanted the lounge, dining and barbecue area alongside it shaded as one outdoor room.

We installed a [Sierra](https://shadingoasis.com/pergolas/sierra/) bioclimatic pergola with a cantilevered section: on one side the roof carries on past the last post, so that corner of the terrace stays free of posts while still being fully covered. It keeps the space open and gives the pergola a lighter, more architectural look.

The motorised louvres are controlled from a Somfy remote: tilted open for shade and a breeze off the pool, or closed for full cover from the midday sun and the occasional rain. A ceiling fan mounted under the roof keeps the air moving on still evenings.

Remote-controlled side screens drop between the posts along the pool side. Lowered, they give the terrace privacy and block the low afternoon sun, and they put an extra barrier between the house and the pool when the family isn't outside. Raised, they disappear into the frame and the view of the pool is completely open.

Installed by our own team and covered by our 5-year warranty. Like the idea? [Design your own Sierra in 3D](https://shadingoasis.com/pergola-builder/?model=sierra) .
