Sierra Bioclimatic Pergola (Freestanding) + Liwa Fixed Roof Pergola

This Emerald Hills villa required shading across two distinct zones: an open terrace for entertaining and a separate seating area suited to a fixed, permanent roof. Rather than fit a single structure to both spaces, we specified two products working together.

Two freestanding Sierra bioclimatic pergolas were installed to cover the main terrace, giving the homeowner adjustable overhead louvres that open fully for shaded airflow or close completely for full sun and rain protection. Alongside them, a Liwa fixed roof pergola was built over a secondary seating area, providing permanent shade where flexibility wasn't the priority, just consistent coverage.

Both Sierra units are controlled via a single Somfy motor and remote, so the homeowner can adjust louvre position across both structures together rather than managing them separately. This keeps day to day use simple despite the scale of the installation.

The combination reflects how the two pergola types are meant to work: the Sierra for spaces that need to adapt through the day and across seasons, the Liwa for spaces that don't.
